In Sheila Mullen's centerfold (May 1977) we're invited to enjoy all the 
budding and blossoming that's a hallmark of spring.

Ah, youth! Sheila is not the youngest Playmate in terms of age, but you 
could reasonably argue that she's the youngest looking Playmate. No way 
does she look as much as 20 years old, but on the other hand she seems 
well past 16. (She's 19)

There is little not to like here. The purple and pink color scheme fits 
Sheila quite well, and the flowery motif manages to carry enough 
masculinity that male viewers can enjoy the view. The composition is 
well balanced, with focal points working around Sheila to bring 
attention to her. The only thing I'd change is her right leg. It's made 
heavier by its relationship to the camera.

Playboy has always said its centerfolds are not airbrushed, but a lot of 
Playmates seem to have lost all their moles in the centerfold shoot. Not 
Sheila. In a way it adds to her youthful, fresh, springtime appearance. 
In no way does it detract from her outstanding beauty. It makes this 
centerfold quite a contrast to more recent ones where even the 
Playmate's pores are smoothed over.
