In Sondra Theodore's centerfold (July 1977) she's on the sofa, ready (in 
the vernacular of the time) for some "Afternoon Delight".

This shot is all about Sondra's bottom. It's not a cute bottom, it's not 
a "bubble butt" bottom, it's a "Dive On In Honey The Water's Fine" 
bottom. The camera angle and the pose both take responsibility for this 
well-deserved emphasis.

It's not the only charming thing here. Sondra has merits of her own, and 
the invitation she's throwing over her right shoulder is well received 
in this quarter. The colors are also worth mentioning. It's a tightly 
controlled mix of tans and blues, with the slightest accent of the zebra 
skin rug. Could this be the same rug that keeps popping up in 
centerfolds over the years?

Yet as good as this centerfold is it never really soars with the eagles. 
It just kind of flits around with the robins. Maybe it's the pose. That 
same pose that does such wonderful things for Sondra's bottom also turns 
her away from the viewer. She's solidly planted on the sofa, and it's 
easier for me to imagine her turning away from me than turning toward 
me, either figuratively or literally.
