In Michele Drake's centerfold (May 1979) we find her beside the garden 
wall. She's been entertaining the stone lions, and is now a bit 
impatient at our somewhat late arrival. Foolish, foolish us!

This is a truly astounding centerfold in its use of light. The 
umbrella/parasol gives a wonderfully even cast to the proceedings, as do 
the large white sheets that I imagine are being held up just out of 
shot. There is a surrealism about it that fits quite well into the lacy 
fantasy set up in the rest of the photograph.

Having said that, I've always had trouble wrapping my erotic mind around 
this one. Michele looks great, very typical of the time, but it's an 
awkward pose for her. She just doesn't have the lower torso or the 
breasts to make this pose work. She comes across in my eyes as too pear 
shaped and amorphous to be a really good centerfold subject. The opening 
shot in her PMOM feature is much better suited to her assets.

I've got no problems with her expression though. The feeling that we're 
in trouble may be dominant, but we can also see we're going to be forgiven.
