In Louann Fernald's centerfold (June 1979) we're taken back in time, and 
the serving wench is cleaning up after a hard day's work. She cleans up 
pretty damn well.

Pouring water over a naked body is a good thing. It smoothes out all the 
minor bumps and knocks, giving an abstraction that is almost sculptural, 
but yet retains a sense of naturalness that smoothing with a graphics 
program does not.

I really like the way the theme and mood of this centerfold completely 
permeates it. There is not a false note struck anywhere. All the colors 
are bold, full-value tones, matching Louann's wonderful tan. The 
hammered copper ewer is a surprising choice that works quite well, and 
that blue hair ribbon is the perfect accent.

I also like the selection of Louann as the model for this picture. She 
has a fresh, artless look that can't be confused with naivete. This is 
someone who promises to bring the joy of youth to the bedroom without 
needing to be carefully taught.

Her make-up and hair styling are both first rate. Those lovely eyes 
poking out from under the wisps of hair send my heart racing.
