In Kimberly McArthur's centerfold (January 1982) she's stretched out in 
our den on a dark, rainy night offering to make us forget the cold.

I love the dark setting of this centerfold. If you could see my office, 
you'd see it looks a lot like this set. You could say this gives me a 
pre-dispostion to like this photo. You would be right.

The challenge in photographing a full figured woman is to not make her 
look like either a fat cow or a circus freak. Kimberly is clearly 
neither. Without seeing her naked in person (where do I volunteer?) I 
can't say for sure how much she owes to the art staff for this 
impression. I'd guess not very much.

The arching back, although not a natural state of repose, works here 
because of the potential movement in her legs. The pose works not only 
in the sense of what Kimberly seems about to do but also in making an 
interesting and compelling graphic image.

The only down note is Kimberly's expression. It does not seem that she 
is one hundred per cent committed to the photo. Maybe it was time for a 
lunch break.
