Now she is about to reciprocate with a gift of her own. Ah, expressions, expressions, expressions! Despite the obvious appeal of wrapping a full figured woman like Cherie is soft furs, despite lighting her to play up the warmth and intimacy and despite a seductive look in her eyes that could melt stone, her half-hearted smile makes this centerfold less than what it could have been. Maybe the problem is with Cherie, in the sense that she doesn't have the kind of smile I'm looking for. Fine, then let's go with a look she can pull off. The other elements of the centerfold work pretty well, although the rose on her garter can be distracting. The art-deco shapes in the background are a good frame and are placed well. The reserved use of red, only in the garter and rosebuds, was an excellent choice, contrasting well with the grey of the coat. I like the forms on the lower half of the picture, both on Cherie and what they do graphically. A lot to like, but that expression . . . It does not have the false note I alluded to in the critique. I now think of the expression as bold and challenging.
