Viewing Luann Lee's centerfold (January 1987) is a schizoid experience 
for me. Not every Playmate is well served by her centerfold, and that's 
the case here.

On the one hand, Luann is hot. There are pictures of her that hit me 
like the wave of sound hits Michael J. Fox in the opening of "Back To 
The Future". She is so hot *I* want to bear *her* children.

The setting is amazing. I love the way the folds in the hem of her robe 
morph into the tiger stripes on the pillows. I like the way the colors 
of the robe and pillows both accent Luann so well. This is the quality 
and style that is Playboy at its best. Whoever is responsible for this - 
photographer, set dresser, art director - has my unqualified praise.

Then we get to the pose.

Why did we get so many of these? It's another centerfold where it looks 
like the Playmate has just fallen from the skylight, and is smiling 
through tears because she can't feel her arms or legs. I suppose a 
desire for modesty is at the root of these, but surely something else 
could have been found instead.
