In Diana Lee's centerfold (May 1988) she's stretched out in the studio 
after a hard dance workout. Maybe we can entice her into another 
physical activity.

The eroticism in this photo doesn't come from an obvious source. It's 
not that Diana's face is locked in the throes of passion, nor is her 
posture erotic in and of itself. What makes this work for me is that 
Diana is so ready to be aroused. She's not there yet, but as near as we 
can tell here she's bought the ticket and is ready to make the trip.

The other good thing going in here is the artistic side of things. I 
love the way Diana's skin works with the red and black highlights. I 
like how the chair backs set up an utterly natural and pleasing 
backdrop. I like the way the red of her discarded shoe picks up the red 
of her shirt.

This centerfold could have strayed into the "Playmate from the skylight" 
territory. By placing Diana in the role of a dancer stretching out after 
a workout that image is avoided.

As nice as the centerfold is, the alternate does a much better job of 
jump-starting my heart.
