For all the flack Playboy has caught over the years for featuring large-breasted women, you'd think they'd know how to handle one in a centerfold. I can't fault Petra at all here. She's a stunning woman, and in the centerfold and in almost every picture I've seen of her she smolders with sexual heat. Her expression is the best thing about this centerfold. But her pose strikes me as awkward and tense. In the late Baroque there was a style of art called "Mannerism", where the contortions of the figures represented mankind's struggle with the Divine. In that context it looks like Petra is working out some kind of deep theological question. If I had been asked (a guy can dream, can't he?) I would have had Petra lean forward instead of back, and had her drop her right arm. That may have introduced its own problems, but I see this general pose working in that direction. The pose as it is works best from Petra's neck up, and I wouldn't change a thing with her hair or most importantly, with her wonderful expression.
