This centerfold is a prime example of how the whole can be less than the sum of the parts. Stacy has a beautiful face, and her head is turned to show it off to its best advantage. Her expression, however, is difficult for me to read. Is she interested in me or not? Or is she pissed at the photographer? These are not emotions I want to be ambiguous about. Stacy has a lovely, full figure. The way her robe is arranged makes it difficult to follow the curves, and takes away from the effect. Below her navel we get into perhaps the most successful part of the centerfold. There the contours of her stomach and legs outline very pleasing forms, and remind the viewer of the reasons why we enjoy pin-ups in the first place. My guess: time was the problem. Either too little time was spent to really nail this pose, or too much time was spent and everyone had become bored and stale by the time the shutter was clicked.
