I'll resist writing a sentence here that plays off the words "love match". The centerfold isn't nearly that smarmy. This is an essay in black and white. Only the tennis balls, the red in her sweatbands and Cheryl herself stray from the color scheme. There are dark greens and blues, but they're rendered dark enough to call them black. The net forms the geometric basis for the centerfold, with Cheryl's stance breaking up the monotony. A subtle diagonal runs from her right shoulder strap down to the near-phallic tennis racquet. The raspberry colored tennis balls and the slight twisting of her feet add a sense of stability and weight to the bottom of the frame. It was a wise choice to feature Cheryl's bottom so prominently, as was the decision to go with this expression. Framing it with her lovely hair and the white sunvisor draw much-deserved attention to the best part of her anatomy. I saw a non-nude poster of this same shot in K-Mart. It was just as sexy. A tribute, I think, to the inherent appeal of this attractive young woman. An entirely different look, and not centerfold material, but I like it. http://cyber.playboy.com/members/playmates/files/1991/10/centerfold.html http://cyber.playboy.com/members/playmates/files/1991/10/39-lrg.html Mark Tomlonson Kalamazoo MI
