I don't think she wants to tighten our laces. In the old days of Playboy, the centerfold often related to the story presented in the PMOM feature. I've noticed that some centerfolds still relate in some way to the model. Here the bright pinks and yellows hint at Maria's Latin heritage. I can only think of a few centerfolds that have gone with this bright color scheme, and all but one of them have been real winners. As if the paint on the booth weren't enough, we are also greeted by Maria's 500-watt smile. She has a look that's right on the line between cute and gorgeous, and this fluorescent expression plays to both qualities. Having Maria slightly off-center and moving into the frame is a strong graphic, and allows this centerfold to tell more of a story. In this case, we get the hint that Maria's athletic prowess on the boardwalk is matched by her physical prowess in other areas. True to Playboy's tradition, the hint is given with class and subtlety, as fits a classy and stunning woman like Maria. But as the owner of a VW Bug, I have always been partial to the series of photographs represented by #34 http://cyber.playboy.com/members/playmates/files/1994/08/centerfold.html http://cyber.playboy.com/members/playmates/files/1994/08/34-lrg.html Update: Maria is just as gorgeous as ever, but I managed to blow the engine of my '71 Super Beetle.
