In Jami Ferrell's centerfold (January 1997) she's taken off her robe, 
and is regarding us with a great deal of suspicion. This centerfold is 
surprising in being as attractive as it is while misfiring on so many 
counts.

First is Jami's expression. This is not only a woman whom we're not 
going to be taking home, but a woman that we are not going to be seeing 
naked for much longer. There is a great deal of anger in Jami's eyes, an 
emotion I find disconcerting, to say the least, in a pin-up. This anger 
and discomfort also shows up in her hands - stiff and unnatural.

Second is the color scheme. Ice blue and January could have worked if 
Jami's expression was warming the scene.

Third are her tan lines. The shadow of the bra strap cuts her in 
entirely the wrong spot. This could have been worked around as several 
of the Cyber Club portfolio shots show. Combined with the tie around her 
neck and the chain around her stomach, it gives a very choppy and 
constrained feel to a pose that calls for a much more open mood.

Jami saves the shot. She is magnifique. Everything else - non.
