This iteration of those classic themes falls short of what could have been. The reason isn't Laura. The reason isn't even that the centerfold is rife with cliches. The problem is that this time around we don't see why this setting became cliché in the first place. It's as if Playboy had run out of things to say about pretty women. There's really no reason for that. Sure, women haven't changed much since the last ice age, but still they have inspired Playboy's staff many times to find that new angle or that new twist that can make us look at a woman as if we've never seen one before. There's no way I'd even attempt writing 125,000 words about the centerfolds if that wasn't the case. Even so, there's nothing really wrong here. It's a great pose for Laura, showing off her figure as it deserves. Laura's make-up is perfect, and the face underneath is a delight. The colors are well-chosen, the set is so well lit you don't give it a second thought. But . . .
