In Jodi Paterson's centerfold (October 1999) she's taking a break from 
her duties in a college television studio, and has given us something 
else to watch.

Jodi's smile alone causes the rating for this photograph to be higher 
than it deserves. It lights up what is no more than a shadow of what 
Playboy can do at its best. There's certainly nothing else here worth 
noticing beyond her smile.

Jodi has a multi-ethnic heritage, and the rest of her photographs show 
her face to overflow with beauty and character. It's her strongest 
asset. So why pose and light her in a way that destroys her exotic look 
and instead makes her features completely devoid of personality? Why 
trade a loaf of bakery fresh Italian for stale Wonder Bread?

Her figure is nothing short of stunning, but here she has been posed to 
look like every other plastic Playmate. About the only thing I can find 
here that shows creative effort is the set decoration, and that is 
supposed to be secondary to the rest of the picture.

It is really a shame that one of the best-looking Playmates of the 
nineties was treated so poorly in her centerfold.
