You know Tina Jordan's centerfold (March 2002) is in trouble when the 
nicest thing I can think of to say about it is that I like the bright, 
airy feel. There has been a lot of discussion about the quality of 
Playboy over the years and if there has been a "nadir" period. I'd 
submit this centerfold as an argument that the nadir is now.

Don't blame Tina for this. I'm sure I'd find her very attractive if I 
met her in person, if for no other reason than she would have dressed 
and groomed herself to suit her own tastes, not those of the Playboy 
Playmate Factory. In this centerfold she looks like just another 
bleached-blonde, pink-lipsticked, over-inflated, over-trimmed Hef 
fantasy. I would much rather have seen Tina. Having never seen her I'm 
clearly relying on my fantasies.

A couple of things are just plain wrong here. Her face has been turned 
to look it's squarest at the same time make-up or a scanner has removed 
all facial texture. She has been made to look like the penultimate study 
for a robot.

This centerfold isn't a disaster, but it's much less than what Playboy 
can do.
