This was just released today. Silberstein certainly has an
interesting publishing background with some high profile titles; and I
can't help but note that the existence of this forum is proof of
her statement about "the unique connection that Playboy magazine makes
to readers". --plw

Diane Silberstein Named Vice President and Publisher of Playboy Magazine

NEW YORK, June 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Playboy Enterprises,
Inc. (PEI) (NYSE: PLA) today appointed Diane Silberstein publisher of
Playboy magazine and vice president of the Publishing Group. She
formerly served as associate publisher of the magazine. In her new
position, she will continue to be based in New York. She replaces
James Dimonekas, who has left the company to pursue other
opportunities. He has served as vice president and publisher of
Playboy since 2001.

PEI Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Christie Hefner said: "We are
very pleased to have Diane assume this key position. Playboy is not
only the leading men's magazine in the world but also the driver of
our globally popular brand. With her diverse sales and marketing
experience and her proven leadership skills, Diane is perfectly
positioned to lead the magazine's efforts going forward."

Hefner added: "During his 11 years here, James rose from account
executive to publisher and he leaves the magazine in a very strong
position. Despite a difficult environment for all magazine publishers,
he has overseen the creation of a strong sales team. We wish him well
in his next endeavor."

Silberstein, 46, joined Playboy in February from Yahoo! Internet Life
Magazine, where she served as publisher. Previously, she served as
publisher of The New Yorker and of Elle, held senior advertising sales
positions with Allure and Vogue, and was senior vice president/group
publisher at Phase2Media, an internet advertising sales, marketing and
promotional company. She began her career as an editorial assistant at
Glamour magazine.

"With the editorial changes that are underway at Playboy and the
magazine's upcoming 50th anniversary issue and celebration, this is a
wonderful time to demonstrate to advertisers and consumers the power
of the brand and the unique connection that Playboy magazine makes to
readers," said Silberstein. "I am very excited about Playboy's future
and the opportunity to build on the foundation created by our sales
and marketing force."
